This is a big pack. It needs an 18" or larger hardtail frame — do the cardboard test in “Will it fit your frame” below before you order.

What the app shows you

The pack pairs over Bluetooth with a free battery management app on Android or iPhone. This is what you actually get:

Every cell voltageAll 14 groups listed individually, plus the spread between highest and lowest
Real charge levelPack voltage, percentage and amp-hours left — not a four-bar guess
TemperatureBattery and MOSFET temperatures, live while you ride or charge
Cycle countHow many charges the pack has done, so you know where it is in its life

Why it is worth having. A lithium pack rarely fails all at once. One cell group starts drifting, the balance current climbs, and your range quietly drops. On a normal battery the first you know is when it stops going as far as it used to. Here you can watch it happen and ring us while it is still fixable.

The app is made by the battery management manufacturer, not by us. It is free, and we will help you set it up if you buy the pack from the workshop.

Will it fit your frame?
1Cut the shape from cardboard. Mark these dimensions onto a piece of card, cut it out, and hold it inside your frame triangle. If it sits in with room to spare, the pack fits.
36.5 cm top edge 40 cm along the bottom 23 cm tall 8.5 cm wide · fits 18 inch and larger hardtail frames
2Check the frame size. It fits most 18" and larger hardtail MTB frames. If yours is smaller, look at our 25Ah packs instead — same voltage, smaller footprint, fits 16 inch.
3Downhill or oddly shaped frames. Full suspension and unusual frame shapes are the ones that catch people out. Always do the cardboard test rather than going by eye.

Smart battery or HS-II — which should I pick?

We stock two 30Ah triangle packs. Same capacity, same 1560Wh, same range.

Smart battery (this one)84 Samsung cells, 50A BMS, and the Bluetooth app above. The one we fit to our own builds.
HS-IILG 21700 cells, rated 1500W to 3000W, 1000 cycles, rack and straps included. About £45 less, no app.

If you want to keep an eye on the pack’s health over the years, this one is worth the difference. If you just want the miles, the HS-II does the same job.

Charging and looking after it
ChargingUse the 5A charger supplied. A full charge from empty takes five to six hours. Charge on a hard non-flammable surface, never unattended and never overnight.
Watch the cell spreadOpen the app now and then. If the difference between your highest and lowest cell starts creeping up, ring us — caught early that is usually fixable.
StorageIf the bike is going away for a few weeks, leave the pack around half charged rather than full or flat, somewhere dry and cool.
Stop using it ifthe case is swollen, cracked or dented, the pack gets hot, or it behaves oddly. Move it somewhere safe away from anything that can burn and ring us.
Questions we get asked
What motor will this run?Up to 2000W at 52V. The 50A BMS gives a ceiling of about 2600W, and a 2000W motor draws around 38A, so there is roughly 30% in reserve.
Do I need the app to use the battery?No. The pack works normally without ever pairing it. The app is there if you want to look deeper.
Does the app cost anything?No, it is free on Android and iPhone. Buy the pack from the workshop and we will set it up with you before you leave.
Will it fit my frame?It needs an 18 inch or larger hardtail frame. Cut the shape above from cardboard and try it before ordering.
Can I post it back if it does not fit?Not through the post. Lithium packs this size are restricted goods and travel by road courier only. Ring 0161 706 1851 and we will arrange collection.
What if something fails?Ring 0161 706 1851 or WhatsApp +44 7493 275057. Twelve months on manufacturing defects — and with this pack you can usually send us a screenshot of the cell voltages, which tells us more than any description could.

Read before you buy — battery safety This is a high capacity lithium battery. Charge it on a hard non-flammable surface, never unattended and never overnight, and only with the charger supplied. Do not charge a pack that has been dropped, crushed, or is showing damage or swelling. If it gets hot or behaves oddly, stop, move it somewhere safe away from anything flammable, and contact us straight away.
