What motor does this suit?

Straight answer, and here is the arithmetic behind it so you can check it yourself.

50A BMSAt 52V that is a ceiling of about 2,600W. The battery management is what physically limits the current, so that is the real number.
On a 2000W motorA 2000W motor pulls roughly 38A at full throttle. That leaves about 30% in reserve, so the pack is not working at its limit every time you pull away or climb.
Not a 3000W packA 3000W motor would draw around 58A, which is past the 50A BMS. If you are running 3000W, this is the wrong battery — talk to us first.
Will it fit your frame?
1Measure your down tube. This bolts to the bottle bosses, so you need a clear straight run of at least 368 mm with nothing in the way. The rail has four slots at 61 mm centres, so it adjusts to most standard boss positions.

2Check the clearance. Allow for the pack standing about 90 mm off the tube once the rack is on. Watch for a front derailleur cable, a bottle cage, or a shock on full suspension frames.
3Check your controller. The 50A BMS is the ceiling. Suits systems up to 2000W at 52V — check what your controller actually draws rather than going by motor wattage alone.

Which 52V pack should I pick?

Four to choose from. The differences are capacity, where it mounts, and how much power it will pass.

20Ah down tube — 1040Wh, 5.5 kgLightest and cheapest. Rated 1500W to 2000W, so it suits a 2000W kit ridden normally rather than flat out.
25Ah down tube — this one, 1300Wh50A BMS, a 2600W ceiling. More capacity than the 20Ah and more headroom on a 2000W motor. Same down tube mount.
25Ah triangle — 1300Wh, 8.2 kgSame capacity in the frame triangle, rated 1500W to 3000W with 1000 cycles. Charges faster at 5 to 6 hours. Needs a 16 inch frame.
30Ah triangle — 1560Wh, 8.5 kgMost range. Needs an 18 inch frame. Available as the HS-II, or our own Smart pack with Samsung cells and Bluetooth.
Charging and looking after it
ChargingUse the charger supplied. Charge on a hard non-flammable surface, never unattended and never overnight. A full charge from empty takes eight to nine hours, so plan it rather than leaving it on.
StorageIf the bike is going away for a few weeks, leave the pack around half charged rather than full or flat, somewhere dry and cool.
Stop using it ifthe case is swollen, cracked or dented, the pack gets hot, or it behaves oddly. Move it somewhere safe away from anything that can burn and ring us.
Questions we get asked
What motor will this run?Up to 2000W at 52V. The 50A BMS gives a ceiling of about 2600W, and a 2000W motor draws around 38A, so there is roughly 30% in reserve. It is not suitable for 3000W systems.
Will it fit my down tube?You need a clear straight run of at least 368 mm and a pair of bottle bosses. The rack slots adjust across 61 mm centres, which covers most standard frames.
Can I take it off to charge?Yes. It unlocks from the rack with the key and lifts off, so you can charge it indoors and leave the bike outside or in the shed.
Why does this take longer to charge than the triangle pack?It ships with a smaller charger, so a full charge from empty is eight to nine hours rather than five to six. Ring us about a faster charger if that matters to you.
Can I post it back if it does not fit?Not through the post. Lithium packs this size are restricted goods and travel by road courier only. Ring 0161 706 1851 and we will arrange collection.
What if something fails?Ring 0161 706 1851 or WhatsApp +44 7493 275057. Twelve months on manufacturing defects, and because we are a workshop rather than a warehouse we can usually diagnose a fault from a photo instead of making you send it back.

Do not charge a pack that has been dropped, crushed, or is showing damage or swelling. If it gets hot or behaves oddly, stop, move it somewhere safe away from anything flammable, and contact us straight away.
