What it actually rides like

Off the line it pulls hard from a standstill without you touching the pedals — a hub motor this size makes its shove low down, so it is the pull away from lights and up steep starts that surprises people, not the top end.

On hills this pack runs a 50A BMS against a motor that asks for about 38A — roughly 30% in reserve. That is what stops a battery sagging and cutting halfway up a long climb. One customer put it plainly: the power on uphills was insane.

At speed it will sit at 40 to 45mph on the flat. Realistically you will spend most of your time between 25 and 35mph.

Range honestly. 21 to 31 miles on throttle alone, no pedalling, with a 75kg rider on mostly flat ground. Pedal along on assist and 35 to 45 miles is normal. Ride it flat out everywhere and it will be nearer 18. Your weight, the hills, your tyres and the wind all change it.

Why people pick this one. Same capacity as our 25Ah triangle pack, but it bolts to the down tube instead — so your frame triangle stays empty for a bottle, a bag or a frame lock.

Will it fit your bike?
1Check your dropouts first. Take the rear wheel out and look at the slot the axle sits in. You need tapered dropouts. A straight vertical slot will not hold a 2000W hub.
2Measure your down tube. The pack needs a clear straight run of 368mm and bolts to your bottle bosses. Full dimensions below. 368.3 mm 141 mm 89.8 mm 61 mm 61 mm 61 mm

Four slotted mounting points at 61mm intervals give you some adjustment against your frame's bottle bosses.

3Frame size. Fits most 18" MTB frames as standard. Smaller frames can work if you are willing to fit your own rivnuts — see below.
4Brakes and wheel size. Disc brakes required. Read your tyre sidewall for 26", 27.5" or 29" and pick the matching option.
Smaller frame? Adding your own rivnuts

On a smaller frame the existing bottle bosses often sit in the wrong place for a 368mm battery. Rivnuts let you put threaded mounting points exactly where you need them.

  1. Offer the battery up first. Hold it against the down tube and mark where the mounting bolts need to land. Check the pack still clears your cranks, front wheel and any suspension travel.
  2. Pick your rivnuts. M5 stainless is standard for bottle bosses. Buy the matching drill bit — usually 7mm for M5, but check the pack.
  3. Centre punch and drill. Punch each mark so the bit does not wander, then drill square to the tube. Go slowly and deburr the hole.
  4. Set the rivnut. Wind it onto a rivnut tool, push it into the hole and squeeze until it grips. No tool? Thread a bolt through a nut and washer, hold the bolt and turn the nut to pull the rivnut tight.
  5. Bolt the mount on with a dab of threadlock and check it is solid before you fit the battery.
Do this on aluminium or steel frames only. Never drill a carbon frame — it will fail. Drilling any frame will void the bike manufacturer's warranty, and it is your responsibility to be sure the tube is thick enough at that point. If you are unsure, bring it to the workshop and we will do it with you.
