What it actually rides like

Off the line it pulls hard from a standstill without you touching the pedals — a hub motor this size makes its shove low down, so it is the pull away from lights and up steep starts that surprises people, not the top end.

On hills this pack is rated 1500W to 3000W and trips at 60A, against a motor that asks for about 38A. There is room above what the motor wants, so it does not sag and cut halfway up a long climb.

At speed it will sit at 40 to 45mph on the flat. Realistically you will spend most of your time between 25 and 35mph.

Range honestly. 21 to 31 miles on throttle alone, no pedalling, with a 75kg rider on mostly flat ground. Pedal along on assist and 35 to 45 miles is normal. Ride it flat out everywhere and it will be nearer 18. Your weight, the hills, your tyres and the wind all change it.

Why people pick this one. It is the only triangle pack that fits a 16" frame. If your bike is on the smaller side and you still want the battery in the frame rather than on the down tube, this is the kit.

Will it fit your bike?
1Check your dropouts first. Take the rear wheel out and look at the slot the axle sits in. You need tapered dropouts. A straight vertical slot will not hold a 2000W hub.
2Cut the battery shape from cardboard. 38.6cm along the bottom, 15.7cm tall at the back, 9.7cm wide, tapering to 3.1cm at a 60° nose. Hold it inside your frame triangle.
3Frame size. Fits most small 16" and larger hardtail MTB frames — smaller than any other triangle pack we sell.
4Odd-shaped or downhill frames. Make the cardboard cutout and try it. Full suspension and unusual frame shapes are the ones that catch people out.

Read before you buy This kit is rated well above the 250W and 15.5mph limit that defines an electrically assisted pedal cycle in the UK. Fitted to a bicycle it is not road legal and must not be ridden on public roads, cycle paths or bridleways. Sold for use on private land with the landowner's permission, or for motorsport. Charge the battery on a hard non-flammable surface, never unattended and never overnight, and only with the charger supplied.
